IDEXX Introduces Two New Tests on the SNAP* Simplified Testing (ST) Platform

WESTBROOK, Maine, USA, January 31, 2012—IDEXX Laboratories, Inc. announces the launch of the Simplified Testing (ST) platform for antibiotic residue in milk. Both the SNAP* Beta-Lactam ST Test and the SNAPduo* Beta Tetra ST Test use a novel technology that eliminates the need for incubation in the testing process. The SNAP ST tests are manufactured in ISO 9001:2008-certified facilities and deliver the quality and accuracy the global dairy industry has come to rely upon from IDEXX.

“Eliminating the heating step simplifies work flow without sacrificing the quality and accuracy for which SNAP tests are known. This increases throughput at processing facilities, so trucks get back on the road sooner,” says Chun-Ming Chen, PhD, General Manager, IDEXX Dairy Testing. The tests are versatile and reliable, making them easy to use on the truck, at processor reception or even on the farm. “Users need less equipment,” says Dr. Chen. “All it takes is a simple pour and ‘snap’ and they can read the results with confidence, either visually or with a reader.”
